Laws in North Carolina are improving! The statute of limitations on child sexual abuse, reporting laws, and education requirements must reflect the preciousness of our children, and the adult responsibility to protect them.

What will YOU do to protect children?

Some Ideas:
  • Be a good steward! Take Darkness to Light's Stewards of Children training. If you already have, re-certify if it's been two years or more.
  • Take supplemental training. Keep learning!
  • Host a training. Others don't know what they don't know. 
  • Talk about it! Engage your circle. 
  • Show your blue and/or teal! Blue is the color for child abuse awareness. Teal is the color for sexual assault awareness. 
  • Volunteer! 
  • Share on social media. Send a tweet. Repost a meme.

​The Positive Impact of a 
Child Sexual Abuse Prevention
Initiative
​It takes a collaborative, unified effort to do our absolute best to protect children. Through reporting trainings accomplished in a community, more citizens are encouraged to actively engage and support the efforts to prevent these crimes against children.

​The CSA (Child Sexual Abuse) Prevention Initiative is led by a trained prevention specialist. Trainings reported through the specialist go toward reaching community goals. 
Statistics prove the increased effectiveness of an initiative. 
​No single organization or individual can do it all!

Step One

Become a "Steward of Children." We utilize Darkness to Light's child sexual abuse prevention training as our core training. This is a great place to start gaining knowledge about this difficult topic. 

Step Two

Talk about what you've learned and how prevalent this issue is. Everybody has a place to help  in the prevention of child sexual abuse. 

Step Three

Keep learning. Keep talking. Keep protecting children. Make our culture safer for them.
